The federal government has officially revised the schedule for the presentation of the FY2026-27 federal budget, with the new budget date now set for June 10, according to sources familiar with the development.
The budget was initially expected to be presented on June 5. However, the timeline was revised following the postponement of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting that was scheduled to take place on June 3.
Sources confirmed that a formal notification regarding the change in schedule has already been issued by the relevant authorities.
Under the revised plan, the federal government will present the annual budget on June 10, while a new date for the NEC meeting will be announced separately.
The adjustment comes as the government continues final preparations for the upcoming budget, which is expected to outline key fiscal measures, development priorities, revenue targets, and economic policies for the next financial year.
The revised schedule slightly extends the budget preparation process and aligns the fiscal roadmap with the updated timeline of the country’s key economic planning forums.
