The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announced construction of 72 Chief Minister Model Schools, allocating Rs9.5 billion, during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Officials briefed the chief minister on proposed plans and features of the schools, which will include campuses for boys and girls across all districts.
The chief minister directed immediate preparation of a legal framework to establish these institutions, ensuring formal rules and regulations governing their operations province‑wide.
Authorities confirmed schools will employ trained teachers and provide modern facilities, aiming to deliver quality education standards across KP beginning next financial year.
A high‑level decision established separate rules for the schools, designed to strengthen educational quality and accountability within the provincial public education system.
Last month, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announced outsourcing of provincial government schools, extending earlier hospital outsourcing measures.
According to the media reports, the provincial education department confirmed approval of outsourcing plans covering 2,000 government primary schools.
Officials reported 500 schools already outsourced, with each institution receiving Rs300,000 monthly from government funds to cover staff salaries and operational expenses.
