Samsung could expand its flagship smartphone lineup with a new Pro model next year. Recent leaks suggest the company plans to launch the Galaxy S27 Pro alongside the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027. A new report has now revealed fresh details about the phone’s telephoto camera.
According to the report, which cites industry sources, the Galaxy S27 Pro will include a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Although Samsung has not confirmed these details, the report gives a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming device.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to sit between the standard Galaxy S27 models and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Earlier rumors claim the phone will feature a 200MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. The telephoto camera could become one of the biggest differences between the Pro and Ultra models.
The same report also repeats earlier claims about the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Samsung may switch the Ultra model to a triple rear camera system. If that happens, the company will remove the 10MP 3x telephoto camera that appeared on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and previous Ultra models.
Instead, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to keep its 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. This setup could help Samsung simplify the camera system while keeping its flagship photography features.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 series is rumored to include four models. These include the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are also expected to feature a triple rear camera setup. According to current rumors, both phones will include a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens.
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S27 lineup yet. More leaks and details are expected to appear as the rumored early 2027 launch gets closer.
