Sindh police have blacklisted as many as 40,000 vehicles in Karachi under the Safe City project, with enforcement action set to begin on July 1.
The blacklisted vehicles include those sold but not transferred to the names of new owners, as well as vehicles with incomplete ownership records or unpaid government dues.
Authorities have confirmed the blacklist is finalised, and affected vehicles may be impounded while fines can also be imposed on non-compliant owners failing to regularise their records.
Police have urged citizens to check vehicle details immediately through the official portal, completing all ownership transfers before July 1 if their vehicle appears on the blacklist.
Officials said the initiative aims to improve record accuracy, ensure compliance with registration laws, and strengthen overall enforcement capacity under the broader Safe City programme.
