AC Black Flag Resynced: A True Next-Gen Remake
Ubisoft rebuilt the entire game from the ground up using the Anvil Engine. Therefore, Black Flag Resynced stands as a true remake rather than a simple remaster. Players will experience 4K resolution at a smooth 60 FPS. Additionally, the engine upgrade introduces dynamic weather, enhanced lighting, and significantly reduced loading times.
The developers completely reworked the core stealth, parkour, and combat systems. Furthermore, naval gameplay now offers expanded tactical options. Most notably, Ubisoft fixed one of the most frustrating mechanics from the original game: tailing missions no longer trigger an instant failure if guards spot you.
Players also gain a brand-new time control mechanic. You can now skip time manually to suit your tactical needs. Consequently, you can tackle a stealth infiltration under the cover of darkness or launch an attack during a scenic sunset.
Bringing Great Inagua to Life
The Great Inagua hideout receives major upgrades to visualize your progression. In the original game, Edward Kenway gained benefits from purchasing basic improvements. Now, the village feels genuinely alive. As you upgrade the island, you will see increased activity and encounter unique NPCs, including Milo van der Graaff and a butler named Bernard Woodhouse.
Returning facilities like the Tavern, Campfire, and Harbormaster offer expanded options. Moreover, the General Store now features a three-tier progression system. Upgrading the store not only improves the available stock but also physically alters the building’s appearance. Players can also construct brand-new facilities that were absent in the original game, such as a Treasure Dealer and a Fisherman’s Wharf.
Fresh Faces & Expanded Story
Story content also sees significant additions. Ubisoft teased a brand-new ending for Black Flag Resynced. Furthermore, the developers expanded the narrative by adding dedicated missions for historical icons like Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet.
You can also recruit three brand-new officers for the Jackdaw through special missions. Two of these officers unlock immediately after you secure Great Inagua, while the third unlocks much closer to the endgame. Finally, Ubisoft restructured Templar Hunts and Contracts. These missions now perfectly match the reworked stealth and parkour mechanics while delivering an improved narrative flow.
