The Embassy of Pakistan in Russia has announced a new visa requirement for Russian nationals, making sponsor biometric verification through the PakID application mandatory for all relevant visa applications.
According to the embassy, visa applications submitted without the sponsor’s biometric verification will not be processed. Applicants have been advised to complete the verification process to avoid delays or rejection of their visa requests.
The embassy stated that Russian citizens seeking tourist visas for Pakistan must continue to apply through the online visa portal of the Ministry of Interior. Applicants are required to submit a valid passport and photograph as part of the online application process.
Under the current policy, tourist visas are issued for a period of 90 days and allow multiple entries into Pakistan. However, the embassy emphasized that the issuance of visas remains subject to approval by the Government of Pakistan.
Officials also advised travelers to submit their travel intentions at least 24 hours before departure in order to obtain a Visa Grant Notice, which is required for travel arrangements.
In addition, the embassy reminded applicants that foreign nationals holding a Visa Prior to Arrival are not permitted to enter or exit Pakistan through the Chaman and Torkham land border crossings.
The newly introduced sponsor biometric verification requirement is part of broader efforts to enhance security, streamline visa processing, and improve identity verification procedures for foreign visitors.
The embassy urged all applicants to carefully follow the updated guidelines and complete biometric verification through the PakID application before submitting their visa applications.
