Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced a new digital facial recognition system that allows Pakistani pensioners to complete their regular identity verification from home rather than banks.
Addressing the National Assembly budget session, the federal minister stated that this new biometric technology will remove tiring bank visits and simplify processes for elderly citizens.
Aurangzeb explained that the federal government implemented various composite budget measures to widen the national tax base and substantially increase current public sector salaries and pensions.
The state aims to eliminate discretionary powers through digitalization and artificial intelligence while ensuring all major national economic indicators recorded significant improvements during the past year.
According to official reporting, the national current account achieved a surplus, supported by overseas Pakistani remittances totaling $ 4250 million and freelancer contributions of 1600 million.
