All passport offices across Pakistan have officially adopted a cashless payment system, marking a major step toward modernizing public services.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the new system became operational nationwide on Wednesday. He said the initiative will make passport services faster, more transparent, and more convenient by eliminating the need for cash payments at passport offices.
According to the minister, applicants will no longer have to wait in long queues to make fee payments, helping streamline the passport issuance process.
Naqvi said the reform was introduced on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and praised the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for successfully implementing the nationwide transition.
He added that the government remains committed to introducing further reforms to improve the delivery of public services.
