The Redmi 17 5G has moved one step closer to its global launch after receiving certifications in Malaysia and Taiwan. The new listings reveal key hardware details, including battery capacity, charging speed, and storage options.
The upcoming smartphone will replace the Redmi 15 5G. Redmi is also skipping the number 16 for its global lineup, following Xiaomi’s naming strategy from last year. The Redmi 17 5G recently appeared in Malaysia’s SIRIM database and Taiwan’s NCC certification. These listings confirm the global model number as 26062RN92G.
The certifications also reveal four RAM and storage variants. Buyers will be able to choose from 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, 4GB + 256GB, and 8GB + 256GB models. In addition, the listings confirm a large 7,500mAh battery. The phone will also support 45W fast charging, offering a notable upgrade for users who need longer battery life.
As its name suggests, the Redmi 17 5G will support 5G connectivity. It will also include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. Moreover, the device will carry an IP64 rating, which protects against dust and water splashes.
The Redmi 15 5G debuted in early August last year. However, the Redmi 17 5G could arrive even sooner. The latest certifications suggest that the official launch may happen before the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Redmi has already confirmed that the Chinese Redmi Note 17 series will launch in July. Therefore, the global Redmi 17 5G may not be far behind.
