Honor could soon expand its foldable lineup with a new book-style smartphone. A fresh leak has now revealed the key specifications of the rumored device. It suggests the company is focusing on a wider design to compete with upcoming premium foldables.
According to a Chinese source, Honor has sped up the development of its next book-style foldable. The device is still in the engineering prototype stage, but several hardware details have already surfaced.
The leak claims the foldable will use Qualcomm’s upcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. If true, the new processor could deliver a major boost in performance and power efficiency. The device is also expected to feature a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen. This wider design could offer a more tablet-like experience when unfolded.
For photography, the foldable may include a 200MP primary rear camera. It is also tipped to feature a periscope telephoto camera placed inside a horizontal camera module.
Battery life could become one of the phone’s biggest selling points. According to the leak, the device will pack a battery larger than 7,000mAh. If accurate, it would offer the biggest battery in the wide foldable smartphone segment.
The tipster also believes the handset will start at CNY 9,999 ($1,470) when it launches. However, Honor has not confirmed the device or its specifications. As with all early leaks, these details should be viewed with caution until the company makes an official announcement.
