The United States Embassy in Pakistan has announced that regular consular services at its missions in Lahore and Karachi will resume from July 20, 2026.
According to an official statement, the U.S. Consulate General in Lahore will restart U.S. Citizen Services, while the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi will resume both U.S. Citizen Services and non-immigrant visa processing on the same date.
The resumption of services will restore regular operations at the two consulates, enabling applicants in Punjab and Sindh to access consular assistance and visa-related services without travelling to other diplomatic missions.
The embassy advised Pakistani applicants seeking non-immigrant visas and U.S. citizens requiring consular assistance to visit its official website for information on appointment scheduling, eligibility requirements and other service updates.
While the embassy did not specify the reason behind the earlier suspension of services, it confirmed that both consulates will return to normal operations from July 20.
Applicants have been encouraged to review the latest guidance on the embassy’s official website before booking appointments to ensure they meet all documentation and eligibility requirements.
