Islamabad authorities sealed a petrol station in the I-9 sector and arrested its manager after a customer accused the outlet of overfilling a vehicles fuel tank, officials said.
The complainant alleged that 61 litres of petrol had been pumped into a vehicle whose tank capacity was only 50 litres. Acting on the complaint, the Assistant Commissioner of the Industrial Area sent a magistrate to the site to verify the claim.
An on-site inspection confirmed the allegation, after which authorities sealed the station, took the manager into custody, and imposed a financial penalty.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has directed officials to act swiftly on public complaints to protect consumers rights.
