Balochistan government ministers and their staff exceeded their approved budget by more than Rs. 130 million during the 2025–26 financial year, according to an official expenditure report.
The provincial government had allocated Rs. 761.8 million for the salaries, allowances, and incentives of ministers and their staff. However, actual spending reached Rs. 892.1 million by the end of the fiscal year, resulting in an overspend of Rs. 130.3 million.
The report also highlighted that fuel expenses exceeded the allocated budget despite the provincial government’s austerity measures and directives to reduce petrol consumption following the Gulf conflict.
A total of Rs. 49 million had been earmarked for fuel, but actual expenditure climbed to Rs. 62.1 million, surpassing the approved allocation by Rs. 13.1 million.
The figures indicate that spending on ministers and their staff remained above budget despite the government’s emphasis on fiscal discipline and cost-cutting measures.
