Applications for the government Hajj Scheme 2027 are expected to open next week, with the Ministry of Religious Affairs set to formally announce the Hajj policy and the details of the official scheme shortly, according to sources.
Under the arrangement, pilgrims will once again be able to choose between long- and short-duration Hajj packages. However, costs are likely to rise compared to last year.
Sources said the long-duration package is expected to cost around Rs 1.2 million, while the short-duration package will cost approximately Rs 1.3 million.
Around 107,832 Pakistani pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj under the government scheme this year, while 71,888 pilgrims will be permitted to travel under the private scheme, which operates under a 40 percent quota.
To ease the financial burden on pilgrims, Hajj expenses are likely to be collected in two installments rather than as a single payment. Applicants will be able to select their preferred package length based on convenience and the duration of stay in Saudi Arabia.
Overseas Pakistanis will also be eligible to apply under the government Hajj scheme and complete payment of their Hajj dues from abroad, sources added.
Officials said that at this stage, only individuals who are already registered will be able to complete their Hajj applications and submit their dues according to the specified schedule.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to formally announce the Hajj policy, application dates, list of designated banks, payment procedures, and other related details within the coming days.
