Huawei has introduced the 2026 MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master Edition, bringing updated hardware to its foldable laptop lineup. The new model keeps most of the features from last year’s version but adds a faster chipset and a refreshed design.
The biggest upgrade is the new Kirin X90 Plus chipset. The laptop is available with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. Huawei has not changed many other core specifications, but it has updated the overall look of the device.
The 2026 MateBook Fold keeps the same 18-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED foldable display. It offers a resolution of 3,296 x 2,472 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio when fully opened. Once folded, it becomes the size of a 13-inch laptop. In this mode, the screen delivers a resolution of 2,472 x 1,648 pixels with a 3:2 aspect ratio.
Huawei has also included an 8MP front camera for video calls and online meetings. Meanwhile, the foldable design continues to use a zirconium-based liquid metal hinge. The hinge supports multiple viewing angles for different work setups. The laptop also features a built-in pop-out kickstand on the back.
The device runs HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box. It also includes several AI-powered features to improve daily tasks and productivity. However, Huawei has not changed the battery capacity. The laptop still packs the same 74.69Wh battery found in its predecessor.
For connectivity, the MateBook Fold supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and satellite communication. Huawei has also equipped the laptop with six speakers and four microphones to improve media playback and voice quality.
The 2026 MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master Edition comes in Phantom Black, Radiant Gold, and Sky White. All three versions feature a vegan leather finish on the rear panel.
Huawei has already started selling the laptop through its official online store in China. The 24GB RAM and 512GB storage model starts at CNY 24,999, which is around $3,700. The 24GB + 1TB version costs CNY 26,999, or about $4,000. Meanwhile, the top-end 32GB + 2TB model is priced at CNY 29,999, which is roughly $4,445.
