Pakistan’s bilateral trade with Saudi Arabia declined slightly during fiscal year 2025-26 as a fall in Pakistani exports outweighed a modest increase in imports from the kingdom.
According to government sources, the total trade volume between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia stood at $4.75 billion in FY2025-26, down 0.27% from $4.76 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year.
Pakistan’s imports from Saudi Arabia increased by around 1% during FY2025-26. Imports reached approximately $4.06 billion, compared with $4.04 billion in FY2024-25.
Despite the increase, the overall bilateral trade volume declined slightly due to a significant reduction in Pakistan’s exports to the Saudi market.
Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia fell by around 5%, declining to $687 million in FY2025-26 from $724 million in the previous fiscal year.
The decline in exports further widened the imbalance in bilateral trade, with Pakistan continuing to import substantially more from Saudi Arabia than it exports.
The latest figures show that Pakistan continues to face a substantial trade deficit with Saudi Arabia, as imports remain several times higher than exports.
The decline in Pakistani exports was the main factor behind the marginal decrease in overall bilateral trade during FY2025-26, despite the rise in imports from the kingdom
