The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recently executed a major raid in Islamabad. FIA successfully cracked down on an illegal immigration clearance scam and arrested an immigration official. A Chinese national provided the crucial identification that triggered the operation.
Acting on the specific tip-off, FIA officials raided Ghauri Town, Islamabad. During the operation, FIA arrested an official of the Immigration and Passport Office. Authorities identified the suspect as Junaid. He actively facilitated illegal immigration clearances for travelers. Furthermore, he charged a steep price for his illicit services. According to the investigation, Junaid demanded exactly Rs. 80,000 per passenger to clear them through immigration channels
The FIA raid yielded undeniable physical and digital evidence. Investigators immediately confiscated Junaid’s mobile phone. Subsequently, they extracted WhatsApp chats and direct payment proofs linking him to the bribery. However, the most significant discovery occurred outside the building. Officials searched a vehicle during the crackdown and recovered a staggering Rs. 20 million in cash.
The overwhelming evidence left the suspect with no leverage. Consequently, Junaid formally confessed to his crimes. He explicitly admitted to receiving bribes from the Chinese citizen to bypass standard immigration protocols. The FIA now holds the suspect and the recovered assets as they push forward with the legal proceedings.
