MediaTek has confirmed the launch date for its next flagship Dimensity chipset. The company will unveil the new SoC on September 15 at 2:30 PM in China. The event will take place at 2:30 AM in New York, 7:30 AM in London, 8:30 AM in Central Europe, 9:30 AM in Eastern Europe, and 12 PM in India.
MediaTek teased the chip as a “pro chip” built to deliver a “pro experience.” The company also highlighted “pro efficiency” and “pro imaging” as key features. The imaging system will support 4K 240fps slow-motion video. That could make the upcoming chipset a strong option for phones focused on advanced camera features.
Gaming will also be a major focus. MediaTek says the chip will offer AI-enhanced graphics, an upgraded HyperEngine, and immersive ray tracing. The announcement adds weight to earlier reports that MediaTek is preparing the Dimensity 9600 Pro. However, the company has not officially confirmed the chipset’s name yet.
It also remains unclear whether MediaTek will introduce a Dimensity 9600 Pro Max. A standard, non-Pro Dimensity 9600 could also join the lineup. Fortunately, the wait is now short. MediaTek will reveal the full details when the launch event takes place on September 15.
