The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad, officially released the result gazette for the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC Part I) 1st Annual Examination 2026. Thousands of first-year intermediate students across Pakistan and overseas examination centres can now verify their individual scores and download the official documentation.

The 2026 HSSC Part-I examination cycle recorded a substantial candidate turnout across regular and private registrations.
- A total of 106,508 candidates enrolled for the examinations.
- Out of the total enrollment, 105,108 students formally sat for the exams, while 1,400 candidates remained absent.
- Exactly 67,848 candidates cleared all subjects, setting the overall pass rate at 65.31%.
- Meanwhile, 35,566 candidates failed to clear one or more papers.
- The board reported 496 Unfair Means (UFM) cases this year, resolving them through documented hearings.
- Additionally, the board marked 1,224 cases as Result Later on (R.L.) and withheld 470 results (RW) due to pending eligibility criteria or fee adjustments.

Group-Wise Performance & Gender Disparity
The official salient features confirm a recurring trend: female students consistently outperformed male candidates across virtually every academic stream. Moreover, professional science groups produced significantly higher pass percentages than humanities and commerce.
In the ‘Pre-Engineering’ group, regular female students led all categories with an 84.85% success rate, while regular male candidates achieved 76.67%. Similarly, female candidates dominated the ‘Pre-Medical’ group with an 80.02% pass rate compared to 68.86% for males. In contrast, regular male candidates in the ‘Commerce’ and ‘Humanities’ streams struggled, recording pass rates of just 27.13% and 31.81%, respectively.

Core Subject Statistics & Failure Distribution
Subject-level analytics show varying difficulty levels across major disciplines. Core science subjects maintained strong pass records, whereas specialized electives challenged students significantly.
- English Compulsory-I: 112,571 students appeared; 107,607 passed (95.59%).
- Islamic Education: 107,437 students appeared; 105,111 passed (97.84%).
- Physics-I: 75,807 students appeared; 63,849 passed (84.23%).
- Mathematics-I: 63,576 students appeared; 45,810 passed (72.06%).
- Computer Science-I: 48,614 students appeared; 41,406 passed (85.17%).
- Chemistry-I: 37,661 students appeared; 31,071 passed (82.50%).
- Biology-I: 28,002 students appeared; 24,181 passed (86.35%).
Among students who could not clear the exams entirely, 14,820 candidates failed in just one subject, while 9,164 candidates failed in two subjects. Additionally, 6,487 candidates failed three subjects, and 368 students failed all seven subjects.
Students who could not pass or who wish to improve their marks do not need to wait another full academic year. According to official FBISE regulations, absent candidates, failing students, and registered fresh candidates remain fully eligible to appear in the upcoming HSSC 2nd Annual Examination 2026. Candidates seeking to improve their overall score or individual subject grades may also re-sit their selected papers during this second session. Regular students will receive their digital result cards directly through institutional portals.
