The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced the results of the Class 12 (HSSC-II) annual examinations on Wednesday.
Rameen Arjmand of Army Public School and College Girls, Rawalpindi Cantonment, topped the Pre-Engineering Group with 1,075 marks, as girls swept all three top positions.
The results were declared at a ceremony in Islamabad, where Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui declared the results open in the presence of FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik.
Zainab Samee of Army Public School and College, Gujranwala Cantonment, secured second position with 1,070 marks. Ansa Fatima of KIPS College, Wah Cantt, claimed third position with 1,068 marks.
The overall pass percentage for HSSC-II stood at 85.95 percent, with 87,364 of the 104,838 registered students clearing the exam. Girls secured 11 of the 15 top positions across all groups this year.
Dr Siddiqui congratulated the successful students and called the strong performance of girls a positive sign for the country. He said the government was focused on improving education standards, adding that reforms and modernisation were essential for Pakistani students to compete globally.
