The Balochistan government has relaxed the upper age limit for recruitment to public sector positions, setting a new general ceiling of 43 years for job applicants across the province.
A notification issued by the provincial government states that the revised age limit of 43 years will apply to general candidates, persons with disabilities, and the legal heirs of martyrs.
Government employees who have completed two consecutive years of service in the public sector will be granted a higher ceiling, with their upper age limit fixed at 50 years.
The notification specifies that this relaxation will not extend to positions where the prescribed maximum age limit is already lower than 43 years. In such cases, the existing age criteria for the respective posts will remain unchanged.
A spokesperson for the Balochistan government confirmed that no additional relaxation in the age limit would be granted beyond what has been outlined in the notification. The spokesperson added that the new age criteria would remain in force for a period of three years from the date the notification was issued.
The move is expected to widen the pool of eligible candidates for provincial government jobs, particularly benefiting long-serving employees seeking permanent positions and applicants from special categories, including the disabled and families of martyrs.
