Samsung has quietly made the Galaxy A08 official after the phone appeared on a UAE retailer’s website recently. The company has now added the device to its websites in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. There was no press release or major announcement.
The Galaxy A08 features a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a 720×1600 resolution. The phone also gets a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It is joined by a 2MP auxiliary rear camera with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, Samsung has fitted the phone with an 8MP front camera.
The phone is powered by an unnamed chipset with a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. On the software side, the Galaxy A08 runs Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 interface. Samsung has also promised six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
The Galaxy A08 carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It also supports dual-SIM connectivity and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. A fingerprint sensor is included as well. Samsung will offer the phone in silver, green, and dark blue color options.
Samsung has not revealed European pricing for the Galaxy A08 yet. However, the phone was listed in the UAE for around $170. Compared with the Galaxy A07, the Galaxy A08 appears to bring only one major hardware change. It has a 6,000mAh battery, which is 1,000mAh larger than its predecessor.
