Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is planning to add four aircraft to its fleet as part of efforts to expand flight operations and resume services on additional domestic and international routes.
Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Osama Sarwar shared the plan during a National Assembly session on Friday. He said the first aircraft would become operational on November 1, 2026, while the second aircraft is scheduled to join the fleet on November 15. PIA will decide the second aircraft’s route after its arrival.
Sarwar added that two more aircraft would join the airline’s fleet in January 2027 and begin operations from Karachi. The expansion is expected to strengthen PIA’s operational capacity and allow it to serve additional routes. The development comes as the national airline continues efforts to restore its international flight network, including services to the United Kingdom.
