iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-order wait times are showing limited demand. Analyst Jeff Pu has been tracking delivery estimates across different configurations. According to Pu, current pre-order wait times for the new Pro models are “lukewarm.” The most popular 256GB and 512GB versions show waits of 3-4 weeks for most colors.
The higher-end 1TB and 2TB models are easier to get in Silver. These versions are available immediately in that color. Black and Glacier models have wait times of 1-2 weeks. Burgundy has the longest wait among the available colors. Buyers choosing the new color face delivery estimates of 3-4 weeks.
The data also suggests strong interest in Burgundy. Silver, meanwhile, appears to be seeing less demand among iPhone buyers.
Last year, the iPhone 17 Pro Max also reached 3-4 week wait times. However, that happened on September 13, just one day after pre-orders opened. The iPhone 17 Pro Max reached those delays six days before its scheduled availability date. This year, iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max pre-orders began on September 12.
The new Pro models will reach customers in the first wave of countries on September 18. Their current delivery estimates therefore provide an early look at demand. Pu links the slower demand to the limited upgrades and higher prices of the iPhone 18 Pro models. Their heavier designs could also affect buyer interest.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone may be another factor. The iPhone Duo could attract buyers who want to try a new form factor. Analysts are expected to keep tracking iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max sales. Tracking for the iPhone Duo will also begin next month.
Apple has delayed the new vanilla iPhone and Air models until next year. As a result, their market performance will not be known for some time.
