The academic council of the Karachi University has approved introducing an Artificial Intelligence programme across all its faculties, a decision taken during a meeting held on Monday.
The academic council’s session was chaired by acting Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Tufail Jokhio at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium.
Departmental chairpersons and directors of research centres and institutes have been tasked with preparing detailed recommendations for the AI programme, which will be reviewed in the council’s next meeting.
The council also addressed proposals from the Faculty of Law.
These recommendations will first require approval from the Pakistan Bar Council and the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, before being brought back before the academic council for discussion and final implementation.
