Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has fined eight airlines a combined Rs1.62 million for delayed baggage delivery, following 19 recorded cases between July 1 and August 15.
According to media reports, the regulator said the penalties were imposed after passengers faced repeated delays in receiving their baggage at national airports.
PAA has directed all airlines to ensure timely baggage handling and comply with established service standards.
Pakistan Airports Authority officials said the fines are part of a broader effort to improve passenger facilities and hold airlines accountable for service lapses.
PAA added that it is continuing to monitor the quality of passenger services at airports across the country to ensure standards are consistently met.
