he National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a step-by-step guide to help citizens replace lost or damaged identity documents, including Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs) and Pakistan Origin Cards (POCs).
According to a video shared on NADRA’s official Facebook account, applicants can visit a NADRA Registration Centre, obtain a token and complete biometric verification through fingerprints, a photograph and an iris scan. After verification, the application must be approved and the required fee paid before the replacement card is issued.
Applicants must provide the number of their lost or damaged identity document. Once the application is processed, they can collect the replacement card from the same registration centre after the prescribed period.
For a standard duplicate CNIC, NADRA’s published fee structure lists Rs. 400 for normal processing, Rs. 1,150 for urgent processing and Rs. 2,150 for executive processing. The respective processing times are 15, 12 and six days.
Citizens can also apply for eligible identity document reprints through NADRA’s PakID mobile application. However, applicants may still be asked to visit a registration centre if additional verification is required.
