Recently, a massive leak surfaced online regarding Ubisoft’s future lineup. Insider Gaming revealed exciting details originating directly from Ubisoft’s backend system. Specifically, Ubisoft has two unannounced Assassin’s Creed projects in active development. Furthermore, these new games exist entirely separate from Assassin’s Creed Hexe.
Ubisoft maintains a highly consistent release schedule for the franchise. Last year, the studio launched Assassin’s Creed Shadows, exploring feudal Japan. This year, fans received Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Consequently, the development pipeline for the next several years already looks incredibly stacked.
Here is the current timeline of recently released and leaked projects:
| Project Name | Platform Category | Setting | Current Status |
| Assassin’s Creed Shadows | Mainline Release | Feudal Japan | Released (2025) |
| AC Black Flag Resynced | Remake Release | The Caribbean | Released (2026) |
| Project Mars | Mainline Title | Ancient Rome | Active Development |
| Project Pocket | Mobile Title | Jerusalem | Active Development |
| Assassin’s Creed Hexe | Mainline Title | Unconfirmed | Delayed to 2028 |
Ubisoft Returning to Rome & Jerusalem for New Assassin’s Creed Projects
Ubisoft is taking players back to familiar historical regions. The leak identifies the two new games under the internal codenames “Mars” and “Pocket”. First, Assassin’s Creed Mars will take the core franchise to Ancient Rome. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Pocket will launch as a mobile title set in Jerusalem. Currently, Ubisoft has not officially confirmed either title.
Both locations hold deep roots in the franchise. The original game heavily featured Jerusalem. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood explored Rome extensively. However, Mars will explore Ancient Rome specifically. Therefore, this timeline offers a completely distinct aesthetic and experience from Brotherhood’s 1499 Renaissance era.
The Netflix Series Connection & Assassin’s Creed Hexe
Interestingly, Assassin’s Creed Mars likely connects to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Netflix series. The streaming platform plans to set its live-action show in 64 AD Rome. This specific era places the narrative directly under the reign of Emperor Nero. Consequently, the setting offers intense political intrigue surrounding the endless battle between the Assassins and the Templars. Ultimately, the shared Ancient Rome setting strongly suggests a direct narrative crossover between the new game and the television series.
Unfortunately, the leak also brings highly disappointing news for Assassin’s Creed Hexe. The highly anticipated project reportedly suffers from a turbulent development cycle. This internal chaos stems directly from a massive leadership change. Specifically, Marc-Alexis Côté left the company in 2025. He formerly served as the Vice President and Executive Producer of the entire franchise.
As a result, Ubisoft internally delayed Assassin’s Creed Hexe. The game will no longer meet its planned 2027 release window. Instead, the launch schedule has slipped to sometime in 2028. Currently, Ubisoft has shown the public nothing beyond a brief teaser trailer from 2022. Therefore, fans must wait much longer for any official updates regarding the franchise’s overarching future.
