Careem has announced some major new changes to its team. Mehdi Raza, Head of Marketing from Daraz, and Talha Ansari, Managing Director at Food Panda have the joined the team Careem as Head of Marketing and Director of Operations respectively.
Significance of these recruitments
This expansion in the core team by Careem comes at a time when Careem is looking to expand in key cities like Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Peshawar, and Multan. To look over operations on such a huge level and make sure that everything goes smoothly, Careem needs a seasoned and experienced team.
Speaking about these inclusions, Junaid Iqbal, Managing Director of Careem Pakistan said:
“Careem’s secret sauce is the talent it chases and brings on board. Mehdi just led Black Friday at Daraz where they broke Rs. 1bn in sales on a single day. Talha is credited with the complete automation of Foodpanda’s operations, across hundreds of restaurants. Both have a proven track record and understand the Pakistani eCommerce space extremely well. Their addition is a shot in the arm for our team and I look forward to learning from them.”
