Apple Announces 2025 App Store Awards Winners Across Apps and Games

Apple has announced the winners of its 2025 App Store Awards, honouring 17 apps and games that stood out this year for innovation, outstanding user experience, and cultural impact.

From a pool of 45 finalists, Apple’s editors selected winners across devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Arcade. The awards highlight the power of small development teams to shape how millions engage with technology.

• iPhone App of the Year: Tiimo, a visual planner that simplifies daily tasks with an intuitive and calming interface.
• iPad App of the Year: Detail, an AI-powered video editing tool that makes sophisticated editing accessible even to beginners.
• Mac App of the Year: Essayist, a writing-assistant that automates formatting and source management, freeing researchers and students to focus on ideas.
• Apple Vision Pro App of the Year: Explore POV, brings immersive visual experiences, transporting users to scenic locales via spatial video.
• Apple Watch App of the Year: Strava, the fitness-tracking app acknowledged for sleek design and robust community-driven athletic features.
• Apple TV App of the Year: HBO Max, recognised for its strong content lineup and smooth streaming experience across Apple devices.

Games of the Year & Cultural Impact

• Pokémon TCG Pocket claimed iPhone Game of the Year, praised for polished gameplay and faithful adaptation of the beloved franchise.
• DREDGE won iPad Game of the Year, combining atmospheric storytelling with immersive gameplay.

Apple Vision Pro Game of the Year, Apple Arcade Game of the Year, and winners in the “Cultural Impact” category (apps like Art of Fauna, Be My Eyes, Chants of Sennaar, despelote, Focus Friend, and StoryGraph) were also honoured for their creativity, accessibility, and meaningful user experiences.
