Apple Maintains 2026 Release Window for Smarter Siri

Published by

Apple is still working through challenges tied to its AI push, but the company says its upgraded Siri remains on schedule. After months of questions and delays, Apple now claims the new version of Siri is set to arrive in 2026.

The company first introduced Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024. At the time, Apple promised a smarter and more capable Siri. However, the features did not roll out as expected. Reports soon suggested that progress had slowed.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported that the upgraded Siri would not ship with iOS 26.4 later this year. According to that report, internal testing exposed issues that forced Apple to delay the release. The story cited information from an internal employee source.

Soon after, a senior Apple executive addressed the concerns in an interview with CNBC. The executive offered a brief but clear response. The company is “still on track to launch in 2026.”

That statement carries more weight than an internal rumor. While 2026 sounds broad, it confirms that Apple has not shelved the project. Instead, the company appears to be adjusting its timeline. As a result, the upgraded Siri will likely arrive after iOS 26.4. Many expect the launch to align with the iPhone 18 series.

At the same time, Apple has also changed course on another AI initiative. The company had been developing an AI-powered Health+ service. However, it recently decided not to launch Health+ as a standalone product. Instead, Apple will split those features into smaller updates. These features will roll out gradually inside the existing Apple Health app.

This shift suggests broader restructuring inside Apple’s AI teams. Therefore, delays around Siri may be tied to internal changes. Apple appears to be refining its approach rather than rushing unfinished software.
