Apple has confirmed September 9 as the date for its next iPhone event. The keynote will begin at 10am PT from Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The company will host the event in person and livestream it online. The event poster carries the tagline “Surprise and Shine,” alongside a glowing Apple logo.
Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during the event. However, the rumored iPhone Ultra could become the biggest announcement of the day. The iPhone Ultra is expected to be Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Apple could also use the event to announce new Apple Watch models.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to keep a design close to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. Still, several hardware changes are rumored for the new phones.
These changes could include a variable-aperture main rear camera and the new A20 Pro chipset. The phones are also expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island and a new modem. Apple may also introduce new Dark Cherry and Sky Blue color options. These would give the Pro models a different look from previous iPhone generations.
Meanwhile, the rumored iPhone Ultra could feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.67-inch inner display. The inner screen is expected to use a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The foldable iPhone is also rumored to support Touch ID. It could feature an iPad-like user interface designed for its larger inner screen. With the event now confirmed, Apple’s next iPhone lineup is set to become official on September 9. The foldable iPhone could be the key announcement that sets this year’s event apart.
