Apple has reportedly asked some suppliers to reduce component production for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The move comes amid weaker demand and rising memory prices, according to a new report.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the report claims Apple has cut component orders by up to 15% for October. Higher memory costs and softer market demand are reportedly behind the decision.
Demand for the iPhone 18 Pro models has also been weaker than for last year’s iPhones, the report says. However, a separate report from China offered a different view, claiming the new Pro models outperformed their predecessors in the market.
Despite the reported production cuts, Apple may still generate more revenue from its latest Pro models. Both phones carry prices that are 10% higher than their predecessors. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the US, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299.
