Apple Siri Upgrade in Testing Through New AI App
Apple is reportedly testing the next Siri upgrade using a new internal application, codenamed Veritas, designed to simulate real-world chatbot interactions. The tool is part of Apple’s preparations for a major Siri overhaul expected to launch in March 2026.
According to Bloomberg, the Veritas app has been developed exclusively for Apple’s internal teams to test advanced artificial intelligence features before rolling them out to the public. The application is helping Apple’s AI division evaluate the capabilities of the upcoming Siri upgrade by running simulations of user interactions and managing multiple chats efficiently.
The app reportedly works like existing AI chatbots, enabling features such as follow-up queries and streamlined conversations. It is also being used to test the revamped underlying framework for Siri, internally referred to as Linwood. This new system is designed to power the next-generation Siri with smarter AI responses and enhanced functionality.
Bloomberg noted that Apple initially intended to release the Siri upgrade alongside iOS 18, but delays shifted the rollout to March 2026. The update is expected to deliver not only improved AI capabilities but also a redesigned interface for a more modern user experience.
In addition to the Siri upgrade, Apple is reportedly working on expanding its AI ecosystem with smart home devices and improved AI-powered web search tools. These efforts highlight Apple’s broader strategy of integrating artificial intelligence across its products to compete with other tech giants in the AI race.
