Honor is set to unveil the Magic9 series on September 28. The company has continued to reveal details about the upcoming phones ahead of the launch. At least one model, the Magic9 Pro Max, will feature a cinematic microphone. Honor’s imaging innovator Han Han has now shared more details about the feature.
The microphone is designed to capture sounds from both near and far. Honor says it can record clear audio from everyday scenes with different sound levels. That includes the sound of fried food, a coffee machine, and clothes moving in the distance. The company says the microphone can deliver a more dynamic audio experience.
Clear audio can also improve video recordings. This could make the Magic9 Pro Max more useful for users who record videos in different environments. Honor is also working with ARRI on the phone’s imaging system. The Magic9 Pro Max will use ARRI’s color science for its camera output.
According to Honor, the technology is designed to make everyday moments feel more like scenes from a movie. The company has not yet shared all the camera details. The Magic9 Pro Max will also support a teleconverter. An image shared by Honor shows the accessory attached to the phone without covering its other two cameras.
Honor has already confirmed the price of the standard Magic9. However, the Magic9 Pro Max is expected to cost more than the standard model. More details about the Magic9 lineup will be announced on September 28. The company is expected to reveal the remaining specifications and pricing at the event.
