The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Sargodha has launched a formal investigation after receiving a wave of complaints alleging that Class 9 results were tampered with following their announcement earlier this month.
Controller of Examinations Dr. Nazar Abbas said the board received numerous complaints from students and parents raising concerns over irregularities in the declared results. In response, the board has constituted a two-member committee tasked with examining the complaints and determining whether the results were altered.
The results under scrutiny were announced on September 2. Since then, the board has faced mounting pressure to address claims that scores were changed without authorization, prompting officials to move quickly to order a formal review.
Dr. Abbas said the committee’s findings would determine both the cause of the alleged discrepancies and whether any board officials or staff bear responsibility. The board has not indicated a timeline for completing the inquiry, but officials said accountability measures would follow once the investigation is concluded.
The controversy adds to a string of complaints faced by examination boards across Punjab in recent years over transparency and accuracy in result compilation, an issue that has periodically drawn scrutiny from parents and education authorities alike.
