Infinity Ward has officially revealed the beta schedule for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Yesterday, the developer announced two weekends of upcoming playtests. Consequently, fans now know exactly when they can jump into the action. This highly anticipated testing phase kicks off alongside the Call of Duty: NEXT global event on August 21.

Modern Warfare 4 Beta Weekends & Platform Availability
The testing phase splits into two distinct weekends. First, the Early Access Beta begins on August 21 and runs until August 25. This initial period remains strictly exclusive to players who pre-order the game. Furthermore, it only supports the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
Afterward, the Open Beta opens the doors for everyone. This second weekend starts on August 28 and concludes on September 1. No pre-order is necessary to join this phase. Most importantly, the Open Beta significantly expands its platform list. Players can access the weekend two playtest on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Modes, Maps & Weapons
Players will get a solid taste of the new game during these active test weekends. Specifically, Infinity Ward confirmed the beta features various multiplayer maps and brand-new Operators. Additionally, the developer will unlock 19 different weapons for players to equip and test.
Moreover, the beta includes both returning favorites and fresh tactical content. Fans can play the classic Search & Destroy mode alongside the Training Mobility Course. Finally, Infinity Ward will use this beta to debut a brand-new game mode called Kill Block.
