Fans of CD Projekt Red’s fantasy universe have exciting news. ‘Dandelion’ is officially returning in The Witcher 4. The beloved bard, also known as ‘Jaskier’ or ‘Julian Alfred Pankratz’, will join the upcoming open-world RPG. Consequently, he becomes the third legacy character confirmed for the new game. He will appear alongside Geralt and the newly unveiled protagonist, Ciri.
Longtime Polish voice actor ‘Jacek Kopczyński’ broke the news. Just this past weekend, on September 5, he attended the PSX Extreme Party 2026 in Warsaw. During a panel discussion, he spoke with Polish journalist ‘Dawid Muszyński’. A recent recap by Wiedźminlandia confirms that Kopczyński shared his recording progress. He stated that he has already recorded some lines for The Witcher 4. However, this informal reveal likely happened without explicit approval from CD Projekt Red.
Currently, the exact size of Dandelion’s role remains a mystery. Kopczyński described the amount of dialogue he recorded as “not much”. Therefore, fans might only see the bard in a brief cameo. Conversely, the actor’s recording sessions might simply be incomplete. The studio still has plenty of time to finalize the project. After all, CD Projekt Red originally announced the game back in December 2024. Furthermore, the developer is currently targeting a 2028 release window.
Meanwhile, Kopczyński also provided a brief update on another CD Projekt Red project. He confirmed that he has not yet recorded dialogue for The Witcher 3’s upcoming Songs of the Past expansion. In fact, he is still waiting for an invitation to return to the studio for that specific DLC. As a result, his recent voice work clearly belongs to The Witcher 4 rather than the upcoming expansion.
