FromSoftware unexpectedly disabled the online servers for Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III on October 30. The developer temporarily took the servers offline across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Consequently, players immediately lost access to defining multiplayer features. The studio attributed this massive outage to an unspecified server issue. Furthermore, FromSoftware has not announced an estimated timeline for service restoration. Therefore, fans currently cannot use cooperative summoning or PvP invasions. Additionally, network-dependent features like player messages, bloodstains, and wandering phantoms remain completely unavailable.
Due to a server issue, the game servers for the following titles will be temporarily unavailable on all platforms.
We will provide updates once we have information regarding the server restoration time.
We apologize for the inconvenience.DARK SOULS II

Fortunately, both games remain fully playable in single-player mode. Players can still complete their Dark Souls campaigns offline while waiting for the servers to go back online. Likewise, this server outage does not affect Elden Ring or Dark Souls Remastered. However, the timing of this sudden shutdown raises community suspicion. Recently, FromSoftware delayed a project titled The Duskbloods. This delay occurred shortly after a noticeably poor network test. As a result, fans wonder if these two network events share a connection.
Previously, a severe security vulnerability forced FromSoftware to disable PC multiplayer servers in January 2022. Restoring those specific services took several months. Yet, the developer has not blamed the current widespread shutdown on any new security threats. Meanwhile, PC players have an unofficial workaround available. Community developer Yui recently released Seamless Co-op mods for both affected games. These specific mods bypass the official servers completely. Moreover, they remove traditional summoning restrictions and add shared progression. Unfortunately, console players currently lack any viable multiplayer workaround. Ultimately, players must wait for official updates regarding a permanent network fix.
