FromSoftware recently confirmed that Elden Ring is getting a brand-new DLC. The developer will officially release the Elden Ring “Tarnished Pack” DLC on August 28, 2026. Furthermore, this new content drops on the exact same day Elden Ring makes its highly anticipated debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. While fans should not expect a massive expansion like Shadow of the Erdtree, this upcoming DLC still packs some exciting updates.
The additional content included in #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition will also be available for purchase on other platforms.

What’s Inside the Elden Ring Tarnished Pack DLC?
The Tarnished Pack will bring fresh content to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Specifically, players will unlock two completely new classes: the Heavy Knight and the Knight of Ides. Additionally, the DLC introduces new weapons, fresh character skins, and brand-new customization options for your steed, Torrent. You can already spot some of these additions in the recent Switch 2 trailer.
Regarding the price, FromSoftware confirmed the pack will retail for 550 yen in Japan. Consequently, international players can expect a fairly accessible price tag of around $5.
Elden Ring Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo fans can finally explore the Lands Between. The Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will launch on the Switch 2 on August 28. This comprehensive bundle costs $79.99. It includes the original base game, the critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and all the new Tarnished Pack content right out of the box.
Moreover, if you pre-order the Switch 2 edition, you instantly unlock the “Ring Pose” and “Mikela’s Ring” gestures. However, you can also earn these gestures naturally by playing co-op with someone who already has them.
What’s Next for FromSoftware?
Beyond this August release, FromSoftware has a very busy future ahead. Later this year, the studio plans to launch a new Switch 2 exclusive titled The Duskbloods. This upcoming game offers a multiplayer-focused take on the Bloodborne formula. Meanwhile, an official Elden Ring movie is currently in development.
Following the release of The Duskbloods, the developer will likely pivot to a completely new and original IP. Historically, FromSoftware prefers experimenting with fresh concepts rather than relying purely on established franchises like Dark Souls, Sekiro, Bloodborne, or Armored Core. Therefore, fans can look forward to entirely new adventures after they finish the Tarnished Pack this August.
