Facebook today challenged the authority of many messenger apps by launching its own Messenger Lite app in over 120 countries. Facebook Lite debuted back in 2015 and since then has gained enormous popularity.

This particular app was launched in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Venezuela. But now with more added features new app named Messenger Lite has been launched in over 120 countries world-wide.

Messenger Lite app is basically built for mobiles having limited storage space. According to the company, it is easy to install and use and takes only 10mb space.

With Messenger app having over 200 million users, this new spice will add a lot of crunch to texting and messaging world. With lesser requirements and space, the app will attract more users and will bring great fortune to the company.

Launching of the app may become hazardous for Snapchat because Facebook is armouring its arsenal with the same features as other messenger apps are offering. It may not only deem the popularity of messenger apps but can also damage their mass followings as well.

Moreover, the users can expect more innovative features coming their way through Messenger Lite.

This app is currently available to Android users only. IOS and other software users need to wait for this lighter version of Facebook messenger.
