Fasieh Mehta has been appointed as the first head of Google’s Pakistan mission following the company’s official office opening in Islamabad on August 18, 2026. This appointment represents far more than a corporate hire. It signals that Google is placing a Pakistani professional at the helm of its expanding presence in the country, rather than importing external leadership.
Mehta’s selection carries profound meaning for Pakistan’s technology sector. For years, he has advocated for Pakistani developers, championed local talent on global platforms, and built strategic partnerships designed to unlock opportunity for the country’s creator community.
Before this appointment, he worked at Epic Games where he served as Pakistan’s representative and drove adoption of Unreal Engine across the MENAPT region. His background includes building strategic partnerships at Devsinc, where he served as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, leading high-value partnerships to accelerate market penetration.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja publicly congratulated Fasieh Mehta on joining as the first head of Google’s Pakistan mission, underscoring that his appointment aligns with Pakistan’s technology ambitions. Mehta brings three critical assets to this role. He understands Pakistan’s developer ecosystem intimately through years working directly with startup founders, game studios, and freelancers. He possesses credibility within Google’s global organization after visiting offices in Mountain View, London, Dubai, and Singapore. Most importantly, he is trusted by Pakistani developers because his track record of advocacy precedes him.
As first head of Google’s Pakistan office, Mehta now controls the company’s strategic direction in one of South Asia’s fastest-growing technology markets. He can advocate from inside Google for policies benefiting Pakistani developers. He can identify local projects deserving international promotion and facilitate partnerships between Pakistani studios and Google platforms.
