The federal government has launched a targeted subsidy programme designed to protect small farmers from the ongoing impact of the global energy crisis.
Farmers who own less than twelve acres of land will qualify for the subsidy under the newly announced government relief initiative across Pakistan.
Eligible farmers can access three separate subsidy packages by registering through the official Pakistan Asaan Khidmat digital application on their mobile devices.
To complete registration, farmers must upload their personal details, relevant information, and documentary evidence directly through the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat mobile application.
The government will provide a direct subsidy of Rs1,500 per acre to all qualifying farmers who own fewer than twelve acres of agricultural land.
Subsidy payments will be transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts or through popular mobile wallet services, including JazzCash and Easypaisa, across Pakistan.
Earlier this month, on April 3, the federal government had already announced targeted relief measures covering motorcyclists, small farmers, and transporters nationwide.
Punjab province reported that over one million farmers now hold Kissan Cards, with total wheat sowing exceeding sixteen million acres across the province.
Farmers and goods transporters in Punjab have received digital access to relief through Kissan Cards, digital bank accounts, and designated cash voucher programmes.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced a Rs3 billion relief package benefiting 366,000 small farmers to offset rising diesel costs.
The Sindh package specifically targets farmers during the ongoing wheat harvesting season, when fuel costs place the greatest financial burden on rural communities.
The Chief Minister stated that small farmers represent the backbone of the rural economy and deserve full government support during periods of financial stress.
He further confirmed that relief efforts would extend to transporters, farmers, and daily commuters, while the government maintains strict overall fiscal discipline throughout.
