Sony has officially confirmed that Ghost of Yotei is a massive financial success. Since its launch on October 2, 2025, Sucker Punch’s latest title has significantly contributed to Sony’s Q4 2025 financial results. In fact, it has already exceeded the sales performance of its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima.
The numbers are staggering. Reports indicate that the PlayStation 5 exclusive generated over $140 million in revenue within just three days of release. Consequently, the game earned back its $60 million development budget twice over in that short period.
Sony’s Chief Financial Officer, Lin Tao, recently validated this success. Tao confirmed that Ghost of Yotei sold 3.3 million units in its first 32 days. This figure beats the sales of Ghost of Tsushima during its own first 32 days on the market.
This achievement is particularly impressive given the market conditions. Ghost of Tsushima launched on the PlayStation 4 when the console had a massive, seven-year-old install base. Additionally, it arrived during the 2020 pandemic boom, when lockdowns drove record gaming engagement.
In contrast, Ghost of Yotei succeeded on the smaller PlayStation 5 install base. Furthermore, it achieved these numbers despite a higher price point of $70, a $10 increase from the original game.
Looking ahead, Sucker Punch has big plans for 2026. The studio confirmed the return of the popular co-op “Legends” mode. This free add-on will feature two-player story missions and classic four-player survival matches. Players can choose from four new classes to battle new enemies, including massive “demonic versions of the Yotei Six”.
Finally, fans can expect a PC launch in the near future. Expectations suggest a release around the game’s first anniversary, likely featuring PC-specific upgrades.
