Google is rolling out a new AI Mode shortcut in Chrome for Android and iOS, marking another major step in its ongoing effort to bring artificial intelligence to every corner of its ecosystem.
The new shortcut appears just below the search bar on Chrome’s homepage, making Google’s AI features easier to access than ever. Each time users open a new tab, the shortcut invites them to try AI Mode, a move clearly designed to keep users engaged with Google Search instead of turning to ChatGPT or TikTok for quick answers.
Once activated, AI Mode allows users to ask complex, multi-part questions and explore topics through follow-up queries. Google says the feature helps users dive deeper into subjects by offering relevant links and context-rich results.
The update is already available in the United States and will expand to 160 additional countries and territories soon. Support for more languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese, is also on the way, reflecting Google’s broader push to make its AI tools more accessible worldwide.
