Google has started rolling out the May 2026 update for Pixel devices. The update reaches Pixel 7a and newer models, along with the Pixel Tablet. This release does not add new features. However, it focuses on fixing long-standing bugs and improving system stability. The update carries build number CP1A.260505.005. It also includes the May Android security patch.
According to Google’s changelog, several issues have been resolved. One fix improves slow wireless charging when battery levels sit between 75 and 80 percent. Previously, the charging speed dropped noticeably in that range.
In addition, Google fixed a camera problem. The camera app could freeze during video recording or while adjusting zoom. This issue has now been addressed for better performance. Display issues have also been corrected. Some users saw a flickering white dot or visual noise on the screen. Others reported a fuzzy or unresponsive display. These problems have now been resolved.
Moreover, a keyboard bug has been fixed. In some cases, the keyboard appeared frozen or rendered incorrectly. The latest update improves typing stability across affected devices. The update is rolling out to a wide range of Pixel devices. This includes the Pixel 7a, Pixel 8 series, Pixel Fold, Pixel 9 series, and Pixel 10 lineup. It also reaches the Pixel Tablet and the newer Pixel 10a.
However, Google has issued an important warning for Pixel 10 users. The update includes a bootloader change. As a result, users cannot roll back to earlier Android 16 builds after installing it.
