Google’s upcoming Pixel 11 Pro series may introduce a new way to handle notifications. A fresh leak suggests the company will market its rear RGB LED notification light as HiLight instead of the previously rumored Pixel Glow.
A reliable source recently shared promotional images of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The leaked materials show the RGB LED light built into the rear camera bar. More importantly, they refer to the feature as HiLight, not Pixel Glow.
The leaked images also reveal how the feature could work. When users place the Pixel 11 Pro face down, the HiLight LED will light up for calls from selected contacts. It will also indicate when Gemini is active.
Google has not confirmed every use case for the feature yet. However, another report has revealed more details about its functionality.
According to the source, code found in the latest version of the Google Contacts app points to contact-based HiLight notifications. The code suggests users will be able to assign a specific HiLight color to individual contacts.
The report says users can choose from Blue, Cyan, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Teal, White, and Yellow. This will make it easier to identify important callers without turning the phone over.
Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 lineup on August 12. The lineup includes the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
