The three-day hackathon aims to come up with ideas to counter the issues faced by WSSP, which include problems in areas like growth, outreach, customer service, revenue and operations etc.

WATSATHON also aims to encourage programmers, software engineers, data specialists and thinkers to team up and think of ways to promote the use of mobile technology to build solutions that can be used by WSSP to counter issues faced by the water and sanitation board on a daily basis.

The hackathon’s main aim is to raise awareness and showcase the potential of local developers to craft innovative and technical solutions while designing applications to address the challenges of Water and Sanitation sector: their services, delivery and growth in Peshawar.
Startups/teams must fulfill the following criteria in order to take part in WATSATHON:

In addition to these formalities, teams with women/disabled individuals and teams with existing prototypes of their ideas will be preferred.

The winners will be selected on the basis of the practicality of their idea and the progress they make during the competition. The hackathon is expected to provide a platform for startups to gain immense exposure and value along with a chance to interact with market leaders and veterans.

The winners will then be taken on for further incubation at the Business Incubation Center (BIC) of the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar. The incubation spots will help the startups gain significant traction in making their idea a reality along with the chance to actually work with WSSP on projects.
