The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has denied reports of a database breach, stating that claims circulating on social media are false.
HEC confirmed its Cyber Security Operations Center reviewed the matter and found that the sample data shared online does not belong to its Degree Attestation System.
In an official statement, it said its systems remain secure and fully operational.
The Higher Education Commission urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information and warned against sharing misleading content on digital platforms.
Last month, HEC introduced a fully online and paperless Degree Attestation System to facilitate students and graduates nationwide.
Under the new mechanism, applicants no longer need to visit HEC offices or submit original documents. Applications can now be filed 24/7 through the HEC e‑Services Portal.
