Hisense has launched the GX Ultra, a 27-inch gaming monitor with a dual-mode Mini LED display. It brings high brightness, fast refresh rates, and an unusual dual-resolution setup. The monitor uses a glass-based Mini LED panel with 2,304 local dimming zones. Hisense uses Obsidian Display technology to improve contrast and control light bleed. A zero optical distance backlight design places LEDs closer to the LCD layer.
This setup increases image depth and reduces unwanted backlight glow on the screen. In XDR mode, brightness reaches up to 2,000 nits for peak highlights. It also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut for wider color output. The display uses 16-bit DC dimming to reduce flickering during long use.
The monitor supports two performance modes for gaming and creative work. Standard mode offers 5120 x 2880 resolution at a 180Hz refresh rate. A second mode switches to 2560 x 1440 at 330Hz for esports gaming. It delivers a 1ms gray-to-gray response time for smoother motion.
AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is supported to reduce screen tearing during gameplay. Black frame insertion is included to reduce motion blur in fast scenes. A low reflection coating reduces surface glare to just 1.8% reflectivity. An ambient light sensor adjusts brightness automatically based on room conditions. Viewing angle compensation keeps colors accurate from different positions.
The display comes in a white finish with a slim 1.7cm profile. Its stand allows tilt and rotation while saving desk space. Connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C with 90W charging. A built-in KVM switch and dual speakers are also included. The monitor is available in China for about $1,030.
